The kids had to go to swim gala today. It was for years 7-10. Year 11s had an activity day. Monkey had to go. She was supposed to sign up for a job, but she didn’t. That was really annoying.
Swim Gala was an interesting concept. The kids choose events to compete in, and it is a competition between the houses. The unfortunate part for Monkey is she can’t swim. Where we were from, swimming wasn’t a big deal like it seems to be here. So she sat in the stands for the whole thing. I had to supervise the stands. Then I had to supervise outside the venue. It’s a really nice place. It’s not too far from our compound. We could pretty much walk there if we wanted to.
