It is so good to have Pupper back with us. I am grateful to Daisy and her family for caring for Pupper for the few months we waited. I’m glad we waited to bring her. Not only was it cooler for her, but we were much more settled and ready to enjoy our Pupper.
It was my first birthday away from family and friends. It was sort of weird. I went the whole day at work with no one knowing it was my birthday. I honestly was okay with that. I don’t like a huge fuss.
You know, it’s hard to know expectations for holidays in a foreign country. Add into that we are just sort of trying to keep our head above water, and that’s how you end up where we did for Halloween.
What they do is have the students write a goal (or two). They come up with ways to meet their goals as well as ways for those around them to help them meet those goals. Then in the conference, it is 3 way because it is a meeting between the parent(s), student, and teacher. The student is mostly in control of the meeting. During the meeting, the parent(s) and teacher help the student to determine another goal or two to work on. The student also tells the parents how things have been going and show their work to the group.
Pupper will leave the US on my birthday. She will arrive the following day. I am really nervous about sending her alone on the plane, but she has to be shipped as cargo anyway. On the way back to the US, she will ride in the plane with us, but not on the way here.
I agreed to be the supervisor for a CAS project. It is a football club after school for year 3 and 4 students. I figured it would serve a dual purpose since Monster is in year 4. It gets her involved in a club as well as out running around.
Swim Gala was an interesting concept. The kids choose events to compete in, and it is a competition between the houses.
