I ended up making a lot (A LOT) of macarons on Saturday with M in mind. It must have been subconscious because, of course, Sunday was Valentine’s Day.
M and I met in Sai Kung to have coffee. We went to that new place we had gone to before. This time, we had a gelato with a shot of espresso.
I totally made a mess with that, but it was really good. After that, we walked around Sai Kung looking at shops. It was packed in town that day.
Not only was it Valentine’s Day, but it was also the 3rd day of the new year. There were people everywhere.

Getting into Sai Kung was tricky. It took a little while, but leaving was even worse. M and I walked over to the taxi rank, and the line was crazy. I stood around for awhile, and during that time, I didn’t see one taxi come through to pick anyone up.

Instead of the taxi, I decided to take a bus.
The line…
Holy cow, the line…
I do have to applaud KMB for how they handled the influx of people. I was on a bus within about 10 minutes of waiting (which for a bus, isn’t that bad). They had a few buses come in to pick up all of the people. I even ended up with a seat on the bus. I expected to be standing the whole time.
The traffic was horrific though. A bus trip that should have taken about 45 minutes, it took almost 2 hours. M didn’t have much luck either. She was stuck in the car park for almost an hour. Luckily, she didn’t live too far from where we were.
It was a good Valentine’s Day though. I got to spend it with M. She’s been such a good friend to me. I am eternally grateful to have her in my life.
